UN mission officials unhurt in KP ambush

DI KHAN – United Nations (UN) vehicle came under attack in Northwestern Pakistan while all personnel inside the vehicle remained safe.

Amid the surge in terror attacks in KP, the recent incident occurred within jurisdiction of Kalachi Baghwal police station in Dera Isamil Khan. An official from the DI Khan Police Control Room told international media that unknown attackers targeted vehicle, but no one was injured luckily.

Initial probe reveals attack took place near border between DI Khan and the Tank district. It was the same area where several disturbing cases were reported.

UN vehicle was en route from DI Khan to Tank when the attack occurred. The UN mission in the area has been advised to evacuate after the incident.

As the crew remains safe, vehicle sustained damage, while no group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan TTP distanced themselves from incident.

KP and Balochistan, the two regions neighboring Afghanistan, saw violence, resulting in hundreds of fatalities and scores of injuries.
