RAWALPINDI – Five Innocent civilians and two Army troops have been martyred in a cowardly attack in northwestern Pakistan, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.
A statement issued by ISPR said the attack occurred on night of 15, 16 July when group of militants carried out a attack on Rural Health Center (RHC), Kirri Shamozai in Dera Ismail Khan District.
The militants opened firing on staffers of Rural Health Centre, and five civilians including two Lady Health Workers, two children and one security guard embraced Shahadat.
Security Forces were quickly rushed to the site for clearance operation in ensuing fire exchange, troops effectively engaged terrorists as a result of which three terrorists were sent to hell.
During the intense fire exchange, Naib Subedar Muhammad Farooq – age 44 years, resident of District Narowal – and Sepoy Muhammad Javed Iqbal – age 23 years, resident of Khanewal – embraced martyrdom.
Army said sanitization of area is being carried out to eliminate any other militants in the area. The perpetrators of this heinous and cowardly act targeting innocent civilians, especially women and children, will be brought to justice.
