Turkish envoy unveils new NPC conference hall

The bond of friendship between the people and the governments of Pakistan and Turkiye is strong and enduring with both nations standing by each other through joys and challenges, said Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, IrfanNeziroglu during his visit to the National Press Club here Tuesday.

The ambassador also inaugurated the newly refurbished main conference hall at the National Press Club (NPC) in Islamabad.

The renovation of the NPC’s conference hall was carried out by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).

The event was moderated by NPC Secretary Nayyar Ali.

Commending the collaboration between NPC and TIKA, the Turkish Ambassador congratulated the press club’s administration on organizing a successful ceremony.

He remarked that TIKA was dedicated to serving Pakistani brothers and described the refurbished conference hall as a world-class facility.

He lauded both the NPC and TIKA for their efforts and praised the press club for its commendable services to its members.

TIKA’s Head of Department, Dursun Ali Yasacan, highlighted the exceptional friendship between Pakistan and Turkiye.

He reiterated TIKA’s commitment to continuing its collaboration with the NPC.

He also highlighted TIKA’s extensive efforts in Pakistan, including projects at Islamia University Peshawar, GC University Lahore, Rawalpindi Women University, and Pakistan’s first public sector pet clinic in Rawalpindi.

Over the past three years, TIKA has successfully completed more than 70 projects in Pakistan.

President of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Afzal Butt thanked TIKA for its support and described the renovation as a testament of Pakistan-Turkiye enduring friendship. He also commended Senior Vice President Ehtisham-ul-Haq for his role as focal person and for supervising the work from eh NPC side.

NPC President AzharJatoi expressed gratitude to TIKA for its assistance and emphasized the administration’s dedication to providing its members with state-of-the-art facilities.

NPC Secretary Nayyar Ali termed the day historic for journalists in the twin cities, noting that TIKA’s support had made the construction of a world-class conference hall possible. Senior VP Ehtisham-ul-Haq extended heartfelt thanks to Turkiye’s Ambassador, the Turkish government, and TIKA’s head, MohsinBalcı, for their invaluable contributions.

Later, President NPC AzharJatoi, Secretary Nayyar Ali, and Finance Secretary WaqarAbbasi presented commemorative shields to the distinguished guests. The ceremony concluded with tree plantation in the NPC lawn by the honoured guests.

Earlier, The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TiKA) on Tuesday formally handed over newly constructed museum to Radio Pakistan’s administration.

The Head of TiKA Turkiye, Dursun Ali Yasacan along with Country Head TiKA in Pakistan, Muhsin Balci handed over the formal control of ‘Pak-Turk Friendship Museum’ to Director General Radio Pakistan Saeed Ahmed Shaikh in Islamabad.

‘Pakistan- Turkiye Friendship Museum,’ constructed with the resources of TiKA, a subsidiary organization of the Ministry of Culture, Turkiye, will be formally inaugurated by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar soon.
