TORONTO – The heavy rain hit Toronto and the surrounding areas and broke previous records on Wednesday.
The roads and streets submerged into the rain water within just few hours.
According to the media reports, the city experienced 100 millimeters of rainfall. The rain turned the streets into ponds and flooded the Union Train Station.
The heavy downpour caused severe flooding throughout the city.
The numerous flights have been delayed or canceled due to the intense rainfall, and over 160,000 homes in Toronto are currently without electricity.
The reports suggested that the Toronto Pearson Airport area recorded 96 millimeters of rain while the Billy Bishop Airport area received over 82 millimeters.
