The Punjab government has sought assets details from all government officers in the province as a step towards eliminating corruption and power abuse.
The Punjab government has started taking measures to eliminate corruption, especially from government departments to ensure good governance. The provincial government has asked all the officers to provide details about their property and other assets along with source of income.
The Punjab Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) has sent a circular to all officers in the province, directing them to provide complete details of their movable and immoveable property.
An officer, privy to the development, on the condition of anonymity, informed that the Punjab government has chalked a comprehensive plan to eliminate corruption or at least contain it to ensure good governance in the province. He claimed that the Punjab government will go all-out to uproot corruption. “The PTI Punjab government wants to initiate such measures to rein in corrupt elements and provide relief to the public, which, in fact, is part of its manifesto,” he pointed out.
Earlier, the School Education department had decided to compile data of corrupt officers in the District Education Authorities. Record of those officers, against whom inquiry are being conducted, will be complied separately and therefore, the School Education secretary has sought record of all officers posted in district education authorities.
