Time to sensitize West to blasphemy: Firdous

Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Wednesday said that every Muslim has an emotional attachment with Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW). The love of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the essence of our faith. The life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) guides us in our individual and collective life. The publication of blasphemous sketches in the West has hurt the sentiments of billions of Muslims all over the world. Therefore, it is high time to send this message to the West that a Muslim can sacrifice his life but he cannot tolerate any disrespect in the name of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW). It is time to sensitize the world about the importance and respect of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW). The way the Punjab chief minister decided to celebrate “Shane Rehmatul Lil Alameen” week has no other example.
Special Assistant to CM Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan expressed the views while addressing the media regarding the celebrations on the third day of “Shane Rehmatul Lil Alameen” week here on Wednesday.
She said that it is for the first time when head of a Muslim country convincingly and openly spoke of love and devotion to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and represented the sentiments of all the Muslim Ummah in United Nations. Following the footprints, the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar decided to commemorate this week as “Shane Rehmatul Lil Alameen” across the province, she added.
She said that it is commendable that people from all walks of life and from all schools of thought and religion are united to pay homage to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In this connection, different ceremonies are being organized at divisional, district and tehsil level across the province, she stated. She said that despite having political differences we all love and respect the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) more than anything else in the world.
