Forces mow down 6 terrorists in Azam Kot

A powerful suicide explosion in the South Waziristan tribal district on Wednesday left at least three security men and a civilian martyred. This was a second attack by terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province within twenty-four hours.
The military officials said the target of the bomber was a public gathering playing havoc yet his designs were frustrated by the security personnel by laying down their own lives in the line of duty. The suicide blast ripped through a checkpoint in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s South Waziristan District near the bordering country Afghanistan.

“On 24 May 2023, a vehicle borne suicide bomber exploded himself in general area Datta Khel, North Waziristan District. Resultantly, Naik Said Ullah Shah (age 33 years, resident of Charsadda) and Sepoy Jawaad Khan (age 31 years, resident of District Haripur) of Pakistan Army, Police Constable Hakeem Jan (resident of North Waziristan District) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Department and an innocent Civilian embraced Shahadat”. Says an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) communiqué issued on Wednesday.
Earlier the security forces mowed down at least six terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in the South Waziristan district.According to a statement issued by military’s media wing, the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in general area of Kot Azam, South Waziristan District, on reported presence of terrorists.
“During the operation, intense exchange of fire occurred between security forces and terrorists, resulting in the killing of six terrorists”. The Inter-Services Public Relations said Wednesday adding that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists.
