LAHORE –  Alhamra Arts Council has launched a groundbreaking initiative to promote and advance the art of theater across the country.

The council is organizing a theater  festival at the school, college, and university levels.

The initiative is expected to pave the way for the development of a new generation of talent that will contribute to the future of Pakistan’s performing arts industry.

It will also aim at nurturing new talent in acting, directing, writing and production.

Alhamra is committed to provide equal opportunities for all forms of fine arts to flourish, and institutions from all over the country are invited to participate.

Schools, colleges, and universities are encouraged to submit their scripts by the deadline of August 31.

According to Alhamra’s chairperson, Sarah Rasheed, the initiative is part of a broader effort to revive the golden era of theater in Pakistan.

“Alhamra is making focused and determined efforts to bring back the glory of theater,” she added.

The festival will pay tribute to legendary figures in the world of theater,  honoring their contributions in a grand and prestigious manner.
