LAHORE – As the year 2023 is heading to its end, we should take a trip down to the memory land and remember the celebrities who breathed last in this year.

Prominent figures such as Qavi Khan, Shakeel Ahmed, Majid Jehangir, Shoaib Hashmi, Amjad Islam Amjad, and Zia Mohyeddin, among others, passed away during the year. All these personalities were considered stalwarts in the field of acting and literature, contributing to the world of entertainment through their notable achievements.

Amjad Islam Amjad, Shoaib Hashmi, Qavi Khan, and Zia Mohyeddin were institutions in themselves, with their legacy in the realms of acting and literature forever etched in our memories.

Renowned actor and comedian Majid Jehangir passed away on January 10, 2023 while Amjad Islam Amjad died on Feb 10 at the age of 78, and Zia Mohyeddin’s soul departed on Feb 13.

Qavi Khan, who was grappling with cancer, breathed his last in Canada on March 6 while May 6, 2023 saw the departure of Shoaib Hashmi.

Yaqoob Atif, whose famous song was “Pani Da Bulbula,” passed away on May 12. Senior actor Shakeel Ahmed succumbed to prolonged illness on June 29. Noted film director Hasan Askari, battling cancer, passed away on October 30.

The losses in 2023 were profound, marking the end of an era in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
