ISLAMABAD – At least three militants were killed by security forces in an operation in Khyber district, the military’s media wing said on Monday.
A statement shared by Inter-Services Public Relations ISPR said forces conducted intelligence based operation in Khyber District, on the reported presence of militants.
It said intense fire exchange took place between armed forces and terrorists during conduct of operation.
During the gun battle, three militants were gunned down including terrorist ringleaders Sohail alias Azmato and Haji Gul alias Zarkavi.
ISPR said militants’ hideout was also busted and weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the dead insurgents. Those killed in the operation were actively involved in numerous terror activities in the area.
Forces also carried out sanitization operation to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.
