Supply of fertilizers to farmers should be ensured at fixed rates: Asad

Under directions of Chief Minister, Punjab Sardar Usman Ahmad Buzdar, Agriculture Department in collaboration with the District Administration is trying to ensure the supply of fertilizers to the farmers at fixed rates and in this regard, zero tolerance policy is being observed against elements involved in black marketing of fertilizers. Secretary Agriculture, Punjab Asad Rehman Gillani expressed these views on the occasion of his visit.

On the occasion, the Agriculture Secretary further said that exploitation of farmers would not be tolerated under any circumstances. Keep a close watch.

Officers and staff of the department should visit the markets and keep in touch with the dealers so that there is no disruption in demand and supply. Giving a detailed briefing on the stock of urea and DAP fertilizer.

A total of 34 people have been arrested and 52 FIRs have been registered against those involved in these cases and fine more than Rs 4.11 million has been imposed on these persons. On the occasion, Director Citrus Research Institute Sargodha Muhammad Nawaz Maiken while giving a briefing about performance of the institute said that Pakistan is number one in the world in terms of Kinnow production.
