Strategy to save people from harmful effects of sugary drinks urged

General Secretary Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH) Sanaullah Ghuman has said that sugary drinks and diseases caused by them are a big problem not only for the people but also for the government. Billions of rupees are spent for the treatment of diseases caused by sugar drinks. He called for formulating a comprehensive policy on the factors that harm the people and their health, so that a healthy society can be formed.
In a statement here on Monday, he said that the use of sugary drinks including heart disease, diabetes, cancer, stomach Obesity is the cause of many diseases, the use of sugar drinks has become a fashion in every party, which will save the people and especially the young generation, a large number of children who regularly use sugar drinks are suffering from diseases such as heart disease, obesity and diabetes. Sanaullah Ghuman said, “Obesity is a major cause of the attack, and the use of sugary drinks has led to an increase in the number of diabetics. We are not doing justice to our young generation. If we want to save the health of the people or especially the young generation, the government will have to take connotations. The Prime Minister’s words will have more impact than others.” He said that we appeal Prime Minister Imran Khan not to ignore the diseases caused by sugar drinks, but to take practical steps to create an effective strategy for the companies that make sugar drinks so that a healthy society can be formed.
