Karachi witnessed two tragic fatalities within the span of 24 hours during the sacred month of Ramadan, as two citizens lost their lives while resisting robbery attempts in Bilal Colony and Shahra-e-Noor Jehan on Thursday. The surge in mugging incidents during Ramadan underscores the failure of Karachi police to rein in criminal activities despite heightened security measures.

This alarming trend has raised concerns among residents, highlighting the urgent need for effective crime control strategies. In response to these distressing incidents, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan took swift action by suspending the Station House Officers (SHOs) of Bilal Colony and Noor Jahan area. He has demanded a comprehensive performance report from both officers, emphasizing the importance of accountability in combating crime. Minister Zia-ul-Hassan reiterated the government’s firm stance against negligence or misconduct by law enforcement officials, emphasizing that stringent measures will be taken against any SHO found lacking in their duties.
