ISLAMABAD –  After days of persistent internet issues across the country, the situation is finally showing signs of improvement as social media applications started working and data resumed downloading.

The restoration comes as a relief to millions of internet users across the country, especially those engaged in digital commerce. The situation continues to be monitored closely, with further improvements expected in the coming days.

For several days, internet users nationwide faced severe disruptions, particularly in using social media platforms such as Twitter (now X).

WhatsApp users were also unable to download voice messages, images, and videos.

The slow internet speeds caused significant inconvenience for millions of individuals relying on online businesses.

The Internet Service Providers Association (ISPA) issued a statement yesterday, warning that if the internet situation remains unchanged, the digital economy could face substantial losses. They also cautioned that international companies might opt to shift their operations from Pakistan to other countries due to the unreliable inernet infrastructure.

However, in recent developments, social media apps have begun to function again after several days of outage, and data downloads have resumed.

Users have reported that documents, pictures and voice notes are now being successfully downloaded after days of interruptions.
