A day after the arrest of a youth for allegedly at-tempting sacrilege at a gurdwara in Bhindi Aulakh village of Ajnala, the Akal Takht has demanded a thorough police probe into the incident.
The accused identified as Gursahib Singh, ear-lier booked for theft, was now charged under Sec-tion 295A of the Indian Penal Code. He was cur-rently on a daylong police remand and raids were being conducted to nab his accomplice, Ganna.
Akal Takht officiating Jathedar Giani Hapreet Singh and SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami said there had been no let-up in such unpardonable acts that testified the failure of the government ma-chinery in detecting the notorious elements.—INP
