QUETTA – The swearing-in ceremony of Governor House Quetta saw Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court Justice Hashim Khan Kakar, administering the oath to the nominated Governor Sheikh Jafar Khan.
In attendance were outgoing Governor Malik Abdul Waali Kakar, Chief Minister Sardar Sarfraz Bugti, provincial ministers, assembly members, political figures and officials.
Sheikh Jafar Khan Mandokhail has become the 24th Governor of Balochistan.
On the other hand, the nominee for Governor of Punjab, Sardar Salim Haider, will take the oath tomorrow, administered by the Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court.
It is noteworthy that the decision to change the governors of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan was made during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Faisal Karim Kundi has assumed responsibilities as the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Jafar Khan Mandokhail has taken the oath of office today.
