Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Shehryar Afridi was shifted to the most notorious death cell, which was previously occupied by Mumtaz Qadri before being hanged, with aids affected and TB patients, contrary to the IHC orders to remove him from the death cell to an entitled barrack. Shehryar Afridi’s lawyer Sher Afzal Khan Marwat made the startling and shocking revelations after holding meeting with him. Sher Afzal Khan said: “Today I met Shehriyar Afridi in Jail. I shockingly learned that contrary to the IHC orders to remove Shehryar from the death cell to an entitled barrack, the jail authorities, under the DC Islamabad directions, shifted him to the most notorious death cell, which was previously occupied by Mumtaz Qadri before being hanged.”

He stated that still in solitary confinement, with no bathroom, Shehryar has constantly been denied a pillow, cushion, or foam for sleep or leaning, adding that before placing Shehryar in the draconian death cell, the jail authorities had piled up aids affected and TB patients in the same.

Sher Afzal Khan revealed that he was grieved over the passing away of his elder brother and expressed his wish to have seen the deceased at least once before burial. “Today I found him very tense and deeply concerned about the safety of his young daughters and spouse, and he said he wished he could have shifted them to any place on earth from Pakistan,” Sher Afzal added.

Shehryar Afridi’s counsel went on to say that he looked pale and physically weak and gave me a message for Imran Khan, adding that his left arm was still undergoing paralysis, and his blood pressure level was abnormally high and complained about the lack of essential healthcare facilities.
