Administrator Karachi Iftikhar Ali Shallwani has said that City Wardens are the vanguard of Karachi Metropolitan Municipality and are very vigilant in their duties. He said that City Wardens department will be upgraded to make it more active and efficient for the city. City wardens will be used in the interest to better manage and maintain KMC’s assets, parks, hospitals and other places. He was speaking at a physical verification ceremony at City Wardens’ headquarters on Tuesday. In his address on the occasion, he said that we have to take this department to the next level for which in the first phase they will be provided with regular uniforms and other necessary items and other issues including accuracy of wardens’ vehicles will be resolved. This will be done so that they can discharge their responsibilities in an efficient manner, said the Administrator. “I want the City Wardens to do their job better than ever. The wardens who perform their duties honestly and diligently will be encouraged to do their best and serve the citizens as much as possible.” He directed the city wardens to fulfill all the responsibilities given to them. Put together and do not give any opportunity to complain about your duties with other departments of KMC. Our first objective should be to be sincere in our work for which every employee of KMC including City Wardens should get 100% performance. Only then will we be able to pay the dues of the basic department providing municipal services. The Administrator on the occasion laid flowers at the memorial of the martyred city wardens whilecarrying out their duties, hoisted the flag and watched parade of the city wardens. Earlier, Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rehman in his address termed the City Wardens as the pride of Karachi Metropolitan Municipality and said that the services of this department are not hidden from anyone. “ City Wardens have always helped and guided the citizens and His performance is commendable,” he said, adding, City Wardens should be used in the city so that their services can benefit the Karachi Metropolitan Municipality and its positive and better effects can be seen in the city. Senior Director Coordination Masood Alam and Director City Wardens Raja Rustam also expressed their views on the occasion.
