The disgruntled leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Shahram Tarakai along with another MPA Anwar Zaib Khan was on Thursday re-inducted in the Chief Minister Mahmood Khan led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet.
The oath taking ceremony was held at the Governor House Peshawar where Governor Shah Farman administered oath to Shahram Tarakai and Anwar Zaib Khan. Chief Minister KP Mahmood Khan was also present in the ceremony.
Sharam Khan Tarakai in charge of the Health Ministry and Information Technology (IT), Atif Khan, a closed aid of Party Chief Imran Khan holding the portfolio of Senior Minister for sports tourism, sports, culture and youth affairs both in the capacity of Senior Ministers and Shakeel Ahmed minister for revenue and estate, it may be recalled, were expelled from the CM Mahmood Khan Cabinet on January 26 this year over the charges of creating grouping in the ruling PTI.
The then Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai had claimed that the ministers expelled from the KP cabinet had opposed the policies set by the government and were involved in the grouping for a long time adding the ministers had been given warnings many times and the matter was also raised before the Prime Minister Imran Khan.
However, the ousted ministers Atif Khan and Shahram Khan Tarakai had in a presser the very next day said that they had not hatched any conspiracy, rather a conspiracy had been hatched against them and they knew the conspirators. Prime Minister Imran Khan, it is worth mentioning has always been a high praise for Atif Khan and considered him his closed aid.
Sources told Pakistan Observer the Prime Minister Imran Khan had a few days back directed CM Mahmood to resolve differences with both Atif and Shahram khan and involve them in activities serving the people of the province in the larger interest of the party and province. Shahram Khan who headed his party named Awami Jamhoori Ittehad Pakistan (AJIP) and joined the KP coalition government of PTI led by Pervez Khattak after 2013 general elections, It may be mentioned had merged his party into PTI in November 2015 reposing full confidence in the leadership of Imran Khan.
