Karachi: In order to maintain law and order, Sindh Home Department has enforced Section 144 across the province for 30 days. In this regard, a notification has been issued by the Home Department, which said that the decision was taken due to the current law and order situation in Sindh.
A letter was written by IG Singh mentioning the possibility that roads and highways could be blocked and sit-ins or gatherings could be held by certain political elements.
Therefore, to maintain the safety and security of ordinary citizens and to avoid anti-state elements taking advantage of the situation, section 144 has been enforced.
The notification also banned the gathering of more than five persons for the said duration.
