The Supreme Court has rejected the plea to block the notification of the victory of Nisar Khuhro as senator saying let the winning candidate enjoy his victory for the time being.
During hearing of a petition filed by former senator Faisal Vawda, who was seeking ruling against the notification declaring Nisar Khuhro as senator-elect after an election on his empty seat in the upper house, Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial on Tuesday rejected the plea saying if Vawda lost the case then Nisar Khuhro would become lucky.
Faisal Vawda filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the ECP’s ban on him that he could not take part in politics for the rest of his life for concealing his dual nationality from the commission during submission of his nomination papers in 2018.
