ISLAMABAD – Pakistani young blood Saim Ayub etched his name in history books, scoring his maiden century in the second ODI of the ongoing three-match series against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo.
Saim Ayub, 22, failed to impress in first game but he roared back with a remarkable knock, scoring his maiden ODI century in just 53 balls.
He completed his game and struck sixteen fours and three sixes, powering Men in Green’s comeback in the series. His rapid ton not only marked a personal milestone but also saw him match Shahid Afridi’s record for the third-fastest ODI century by a Pakistani.
His blazing knock earned him place in record books, joining Afridi, who holds the top three spots for the fastest ODI tons by a Pakistani.
His stunning century came as part of Pakistan’s quest for victory in the second ODI, keeping them alive in the series after a tough start. His performance has certainly established him as a rising star in Pakistan’s limited-overs setup.
Saim Ayub made his international debut for Team Green in March 2023.
