The exchange rate of Pakistan rupee weakened by 48 paisas against the US dollar in interbank trading on Friday and closed at Rs 175.45 as compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs 174.97.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollars in the open market were recorded at Rs 177.1 and Rs 178.35 respectively.
Similarly, the price of the euro was appreciated by Rs1.54 and closed at Rs 197.85 against the last day’s trading of Rs 196.31, the State Bank of Pakistan reported.
The Japanese Yen gained two paisa to close at Rs 1.53, whereas a decrease of 02 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of the British Pound, which was traded at Rs 233.52 as compared to its last closing of Rs 233.54.
The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 13 paisas each to close at Rs 47.79 and Rs 46.77 respectively.—APP
