Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday said that some elements are targeting state institutions under a specific agenda and propaganda against the institutions is deplorable as well as condemnable as the country is facing numerous challenges.
He reiterated that the government will go to every extent to ensure the rule of law. “Every possible step will be taken to protect the life, honour and property of the common. No one will be allowed to take law into his own hands and the government will continue to stand firmly with the state institutions.”
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar was talking to Chairman Kashmir Committee Shehryar Khan Afridi and Federal Interior Minister Brig. (r) Ijaz Shah who called on the chief minister at his office here on Monday.
They condemned nefarious attempts to malign the state institutions and expressed the commitment to counter every conspiracy. The meeting decided indiscriminate crackdown on violators of law.
On the occasion, Federal Interior Minister maintained that there is no justification for criticism on institutions by some elements, adding that the specific agenda of the opposition, aimed at making the institutions controversial, has been exposed.
The opposition is bent upon defaming the country through its anti-Pakistan narrative, he deplored. Legal action will be initiated against those levelling accusations against the institutions, he added.
Chairman Kashmir Committee Shehryar Afridi remarked that those accusing institutions are not well-wishers of the country and the opposition is trying to finagle its wicked designs by making the institutions debatable.
Making of institutions controversial by those engaged in negative politics is equivalent to enmity with the country, he asserted.
Law Minister Raja Basharat, Chief Secretary, IG Police, ACS (Home), and others attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar stated that the role of the teachers is very important in determining the approach and thoughts of the students. In his message on World Teachers’ Day, he said that he salutes his teachers and teachers of the entire country.
He said that the purpose of observing the day is to highlight the importance and respect of teachers.
On the other hand, the CM said that no corona patient died during the last 24 hours in Punjab while 129 new cases have been reported.
In a statement, the CM stated that the number of active patients is 1689 while 96012 have been recovered. 9325 have been tested during the last 24 hours while 2240 have, so far, died of corona in Punjab, he added.
The CM also appealed to the citizens to follow corona SOPs to avoid any further spread of this virus.
Moreover, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar will preside over the 36th provincial cabinet meeting at his office today (Tuesday) to dilate upon 28 points agenda.
