Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Thursday inaugurated the cleaning of drains.
On the occasion, Karachi Administrator Laiq Ahmed, Managing Director Sindh Solid Waste Management Board Mr. ZubairChanna, President PPP South Khalil Hot and others were present.
Speaking to the media, the minister said the chief minister had issued orders for cleaning of drains ahead of monsoon season. In this connection, initially Rs500 million grant has been approved.
The grant will be used to clean 38 big drains of the Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) and 514 small nullahs of district municipal corporations.
Nasir Shah said that the cleaning work at 21 places is going on in seven districts of the city.
