PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced several initiatives to support deserving people across the province, including giving cash grant to deserving girls getting married.
KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur chaired a meeting of the Social Welfare Department when the use of Zakat and Dowry Funds, along with other welfare measures, was discussed.
It was decided in the meeting that mass wedding events would be held at the divisional level. Dowry Funds will be used to facilitate the weddings of more than 4,000 deserving girls in the province.
It was decided that the wedding ceremonies will be held at the expense of the provincial government. Furthermore, the deserving girls getting married will also be given a cash grant of Rs200,000.
How to Register for Cash Grant
The KP government is yet to execute the initiative thus the details for registration are not available so far. These will be updated as soon as announced by the provincial authorities.
Meanwhile, the chief minister stated that under the Dowry Fund, it will be ensured that only the rightful recipients benefit from it.
Wheel Chair for Disabled Students
The chief minister also decided to provide wheelchairs to disabled students.
It was decided in the meeting that, in the first phase, disabled students in higher educational institutions would be provided with wheelchairs.
Additionally, a decision was made to establish Old Age Homes for senior citizens. These homes will provide accommodation and entertainment facilities for elderly citizens.
The meeting also decided to issue Orphan Cards for orphaned children. Through these cards, orphaned children will be given a monthly allowance of Rs5,000 at the school level.
