Another horrific gang-rape incident surfaced as three robbers sexually assaulted a girl after overcoming her parents on the roadside near Farooqabad town of Sheikhupura, on Tuesday. The victim girl is a Christian as her father – Youhana Masih, a resident of Kakar Gill – told officials at the Farooqabad Saddr Police Station that they were returning home after attending a wedding when the robbers intercepted them on a road. He said they snatched Rs3,000 and a mobile phone from them while tying him and his wife with ropes as they took away his 18-year-old daughter to nearby bushes. The criminals gang-raped the girl and later fled, hurling threats at them, he added in the FIR. On the other hand, as the victim was referred to the DHQ Hospital for medical examination. The Sheikhupura RPO (Regional Police Officer) has taken notice of the latest gang-rape case and sought a report from the district police chief. In this connection, DPO (District Police Officer) Ghulam Mubashir Mekan said multiple teams had been formed and promised that the rapists would be arrested soon.
