University Town Police gunned down a robber in encounter while his accomplice managed to escape on Thursday morning. According to police, a police mobile team was patrolling in a locality on Canal Road when two robbers riding on a motorcycle opened fire on them and police also retaliated in self-defense. During the exchange of fire one of the riding robbers was shot dead while the second man-aged to escape.
On receiving the information of the incident, police officers along with a heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot and further tightened checking at the checkpoint.—APP
