ISLAMABAD – More rains and snowfall are expected in Murree, Galyat and other tourist destinations of Pakistan on Monday evening/night and Tuesday, says the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly prevails over the western and upper parts of Pakistan. It is likely to strengthen during the next 12 hours.
Under these conditions, more rain wind-thunderstorm with snowfall is expected in Murree, Galyat and other tourist sites in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Monday evening/night and Tuesday. Isolated hailstorms are also expected during the forecast period.
Heavy rain/snowfall may cause the closure of roads in Murree, Galyat, Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch and Havellian from Monday to Tuesday. The possibility of landslides in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan cannot be ruled out during the forecast period.
Murree’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between -01-01 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and -02-00 C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms with snowfall occurred in Murree, Galyat and tourist points in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during the last 24 hours.

Kalam remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 05 C below freezing.
In Murree, minimum temperature was recorded at -01 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 83 per cent.
