Rain paralysed life in Abbottabad

Early hours on Monday’s rain completely paralyzed life in Abbottabad city where almost 70% city area and mostly the cantonment localities were under the heavy flood causing the long queue of vehicles on main KKH and link roads while rain water has badly damaged the household goods of hundreds of residents.

One to two feet rain water was reported in the surrounding localities of Hassan town, Bilal town, Sir Syed Colony, Lambi dheri, Thar Kana Chowk, Supply, Kala Pull, Stylo Street, Shah Zaman colony, main PMA road and even in Ayub Medical complex Hospital wards were full of flood water.

Due to heavy rain, the flood water damaged the Ayub Bridge at Havelian causing diversion of all the traffic on main KKH highway to the old bridge and long “Q” was seen on the both sides of the road.

Power supply which was suspended on the midnight of the Monday was restored back on the mid-day of Monday resulting acute water shortage in the city.

Till the filing of report, no loss of life was reported but huge loss of animals is reported in Shah Zaman Colony due to felling down of Wall on the Sheep’s.
