Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid declared on Wednesday that embarking on new development initiatives and eradication of sense of deprivation prevailed among people of South Punjab is top most priority of the PTI government.
Speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the Pakistan Medical Association here, the minister said special development projects have been initiated in South Punjab.
Punjab Minister for Prisons Zawar Warraich, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Nadeem Qureshi, Secretary Health South Punjab Ajmal Bhatti, Vice Chancellor Nishter Medical University Dr. Ahmed Ijaz Masood, Principal Dr. Iftikhar and MPA Sabeen Gul were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, the health minister said that the government was going an extra mile for hiring and promotion of doctors.
Enumerating her government’s feat for the development of health sector, Dr Yasmin Rashid said the government has provided Sehat Insaf Cards to 5.2 million families in all districts of Punjab. Over 250 hospitals are providing healthcare services under Sehat Insaf Card Program.
The facility will be provided to over 50 million people in Punjab alone. Development work is on full pace at Nishter-2. A mother and Child Hospital is being constructed at Ghalla Mandi Multan. South Punjab has never been a priority of any government and PTI government is fully focusing on the development of South Punjab.
Setting up of South Secretariat is a glaring example of that commitment. She said progress on human development index indicators is the vision of PTI government.
We were able to control the Corona Pandemic by the sacrifices of our doctors and I salute them.”
The minister further said, “Economies of many developed nations could not withstand Corona Pandemic.
Our strategies were appreciated the world over, however, we cannot afford complacency as it may return again. China has been a great friend and the trials of vaccine developed by China are also underway in Pakistan.”
She said opposition was a hotchpotch of different parities with conflicting interests with a ‘save-the-oldies’ agenda. This, she added, was a purely personal agenda and none of opposition parties was interested in serving the nation.
She said they had no sympathy for people and father of one leader was an absconder and was working for a specific agenda.
She said opposition won’t succeed in their mission and the government shall complete its full term.
