LAHORE – The government of Punjab has announced plans to introduce a package for those who consume less than 300 units of electricity.
Punjab’s Finance Minister, Mujtaba Shujaur Rahman, told the media on Friday during a talk at the Punjab Assembly premises that they are developing a scheme for individuals who consume less than 300 units of electricity.
“This scheme will be approved in the 2024-25 budget, and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has established a committee to oversee its implementation.”
He added that over 2.5 crore households in Punjab consume 300 units or less of electricity. The increase in electricity and gas prices is related to the subject of federal government policy, but the prices are increasing due to PTI’s incompetence.
Punjab’s economic situation is better than other provinces, and the tax system has been significantly improved. He added that the government has a budget of 300 billion rupees to support these initiatives.
