Spokesperson of Agriculture Department, Punjab has taken strict measure and crackdown is being done to ensure the supply of quality fertilizers to farmers at fixed rates.
Exploitation of farmers will not be tolerated under any circumstances. In this regard, under the supervision of Secretary Agriculture, Punjab Nadir Chattha, the teams of the Agriculture Department are fully active to ensure the supply of fertilizers at the prescribed rates and are following a zero tolerance policy against those involved in the sale of fertilizers at price hike.
The spokesperson further disclosed that action was taken against 303 dealers involved in the sale of fertilizers at high prices in the first seven days of this month. In addition, 155 dealers who sold fertilizers at higher prices have been fined more than Rs. 3.441 million.
In addition, 3279 bags of fertilizers have been confiscated. The spokesman of Agriculture Department further said that Complaints against those who are involved in price hike and black marketing can be lodged with the concerned Assistant Director, Deputy Director or Director Agriculture (Extension).
A part from it, farmers may contact with Punjab Agriculture Helpline number 0800-17000 from Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 8 pm for lodging their complaints. Immediate action is taken on receiving the complaint.
