Punjab Police arrest 1900 kite flyers/sellers during ongoing year: Spokesman

Following the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the police continue crackdowns against kite manufactures across province.

A spokesman of Punjab Police said on Thursday that during the ongoing year, 1931 kite manufacturers/sellers were arrested and 1872 cases have been registered.

As many as 37,350 kites and 1622 string rolls have been confiscated during the operations, he added.

The spokesman further stated that in Cabinet Division 434 accused, in Civil Lines 165, in City Division 451, in Iqbal Town 255, in Saddar 285, and in Model Town 341 accused of kites flying/selling have been arrested.

The Lahore Police Chief Bilal Siddique Kamyana, kites flying and use of metallic string was disastrous for human lives and strict actions were being taken against elements involved in manufacturing, selling and use of metallic kite strings.
