LAHORE – The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board has imposed an immediate ban on a book of O-level class, The History and Culture of Pakistan, for unknown reasons.
The Schools Education Department has issued a notification in this regard, directing all the chief executive officers of the District Education Authority to implement the orders. The notification was issued on June 13.
Authorities have not explained the reasons for banning the book, which has been authored by Nigel Kelly.
The development has been confirmed by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat and others officials to a private news channel.
An official revealed that the ban was imposed on the book in May last year, adding that the latest notification aims at ensuring the implementation of the ban on the book.
