LAHORE – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is all set for a party’s parliamentary board to deliberate the matters concerning formation of government in Punjab.
Maryam Nawaz, the PML-N’s nominee for Punjab chief minister, would chair the meeting while all the elected leaders were directed to ensure their present.
The sources said that the meeting would decide the course of action for the Punjab Assembly session, while consultations would also be held regarding the government formation, the speaker, and the deputy speaker’s elections.
Earlier, the PML-N and the PPP agreed to form government in the center.
The top leadership of both the parties held a press conference on Tuesday late night and said that Asif Ali Zardari will be the president while Shehbaz Sharif will be voted for prime minister.
On the other, the PPP is also very active for the office of Governor in Punjab.
The sources said that the PPP leadership would convene an important meeting in Lahore to discuss the appointment of governor in Punjab.
Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mahmud, Qamar Zaman Kaira and Nadeem Afzal Chan are the strong candidates for the office of Governor Punjab.
The sources said that prominent leaders including Nawabzada Sanaullah Zehri, Murad Ali Shah, Saeed Ghani, Qamar Zaman Kaira, and Nadeem Afzal Chan would take part in the meeting while PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would chair the meeting.
