Punjab government has announced openings for Charge Nurses BPS-16 to cover all quotas in the province.

The new permanent jobs come with a competitive salary, benefits package, flexible scheduling, and opportunities, as per announcement made by Specialised Healthcare & Medical Education Department (SHC&MED).

The health care department sent a letter to Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC), outlining its intention to hire 3,000 charge nurses (BS-16) for the 2024 batch, ensuring all quotas are covered.

A recent Senate Standing Committee on Health meeting highlighted Pakistan’s severe shortage of around one million nurses.

Amid this shortage, the government of Pakistan mulled sending qualified Pakistani nurses to the US, Saudi Arabia, and other countries for employment.

This development comes after an agreement between Islamabad and NYC state to facilitate employment of Pakistani nurses in New York.
