LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the project for providing facility of free wifi to citizens of Lahore at different public points.
Initially, the services will be available at 10 spots across the city within two weeks while it will be expanded to 516 points to facilitate masses.
The provincial government has also approved the construction of a skyscraper, Arfa Kareem Tower 2, as efforts are being made to promote technology in the country.
She also set a deadline for preparing a plan regarding construction of IT city and knowledge park in the province. She also directed the authorities concerned to invite the Chinese tech companies to Punjab.
Maryam Nawaz had made promises for provision of free WiFi, laptop and iPads in his victory speech after winning the chief minister election.
Where to Find Free WiFi Points in Lahore ?
The pilot project of the free WiFi facility will be launched within two weeks and under it the facility will be provided at 10 different spots in Lahore.
The government intends to establish 516 such points across the Punjab capital. The list of the free WiFi points will be shared as soon as it is released by the government.
