With the Covid-19 casualties touching 300 figure in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and confirmed cases all over the province rising to more than 5800, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has further extended the public holidays till May 31.
“Government has issued a fresh notification where apart from necessary offices all the offices will be closed after the holidays have been extended till May 31,” Advisor to Chief Minister of KP on Information and Public Relations Ajmal Wazir announced while briefing media on Saturday. The Advisor said the extension was aimed at minimizing the risks of coronavirus adding public transport was given permission from Monday but with SOPs. He informed that all divisional commissioners will form SOPs in collaboration with regional transport authorities adding that the district administration, transport authorities and transporters will ensure implementation of SOPs. Wazir said petrol pumps and CNG stations have been exempted from the ban and could run their activities round the clock, whereas, the provincial government has also decided to keep barber and salon shops open till 4 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with SOPs where only hair cutting was allowed.
