PTI ticket-holder arrested from Raiwind

Police have arrested a Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf ticket-holder from Raiwind near Lahore, reported on Wednesday. Police took into custody Khalid Gujjar who is contesting for Punjab Assembly seat PP 166 in Lahore.

According to police, the PTI ticket-holder was arrested in a case (1271/23) registered against him following the May 9 riots that erupted soon after the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan at Gulberg Police Station.

Khalid Gujjar’s brother Shabbir Gujjar said that the family could not contact Khalid for the last several hours. It bears mentioning here that only a while ago Khalid Gujjar was released on bail in a case related to vandalism outside Zaman Park.—INP
