ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) demolished a section of the building of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) central secretariat in an anti-encroachment drive on Thursday night.

The operation was conducted by the anti-encroachment team of CDA and officials of the district administration. They also sealed the PTI head office located at Sector G8/4 in the federal capital.

The administration said that illegal construction of offices belonging to political parties are being razed, revealing that the plot where PTI has established its office is allotted to a person named Sartaj Ali.

It said that the action was taken after issuing several warning and notices to the parties over the violation of the by-laws, adding that the CDA issued the order to seal the property on May 10.

A number of PTI leaders and party workers reached the spot after they receiving information about the demolition of the central office.

However, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan instructed the party workers to remain calm during this situation, adding that legal ways will be used against the CDA action.
