PTI ex-MPA, three others flee as ATC dismisses bail plea

Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI) MPA Shabbir Gujjar and three others fled from an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore after it dismissed their interim bail in the case registered under terrorism provisions for attacking police.

The police attempted to nab the accused, but the accused, flanked by the PTI workers and lawyers, tortured the policemen and fled away.

ATC Admin Judge Abhar Gul Khan conducted the hearing. Salim Ladi and Chaudhry Nauman Atiq Advocate argued before the court on behalf of the accused. Deputy Prosecutor Amjad Javed requested to dismiss the bail plea.

“The accused had fired shots at policemen and also ripped their uniforms. Weapons and liquor had also been recovered from the dera of the accused,” Amjad Javed told the court.It is to be noted here that Shabbir Gujjar, Khalid Mehmood Gujjar, Tariq Farooq and Adeel Mehmood had filed interim bails. A case had been registered against them for assault on police and murder attempt at Raiwind City police station.
