Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab for Information and Spokesperson Punjab Government Hasaan Khawar has said that unlike the former governments, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has increased the country’s revenue through austerity measures and efficient economic reforms. He said that the Opposition’s politics revolves around negativity, conspiracies and deals, turning a blind eye from flourishing economy and the government’s public welfare schemes.
He also said that amendments and improvements in the current governance model are part of the PTI’s manifesto and the vision of the Prime Minister Imran Khan. In the journey of fulfilling this vision, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has introduced revolutionary measures in education, health, local government system, police and other important institutions. On the direction of the Chief Minister of Punjab, reforms were also introduced in the Revenue department on priority basis.
Hasaan Khawar along with Senior Member Board of Revenue Babar Hayat Tarar was briefing media regarding people friendly initiatives of the department. He said that the purpose of rural revenue centers is to provide services to the people at their doorsteps. Out of the target of 8000 rural revenue centers of Punjab government, 1139 are functional at present while about 4000 will be operational from January 3rd. He said that these 4,000 rural revenue centers, being completed five months before their given date of completion, were a gift from the Chief Minister of Punjab to the people of Punjab.
The SACM said that instead of spending billions of rupees on this project, the government thriftily used the existing government infrastructure and facilities. He further said that one window E-service centers at tehsil level are providing all services to the people under one roof, while reducing the chances of fraud at the same time. He further said that the Revenue Courts Management System, neglected for a long time, has been made functional to assess and minimize the backlog of pending cases.
