KARACHI – Shai Hope, and David Wiese put Lahore Qalandars in command in the ongoing Pakistan Super League season 8 as the Afridi-led squad outclassed Quetta Gladiators in the 10th match on Tuesday.

Qalandars bat first in the game and posted a massive 199-run target but managed to restrict Sarafraz XI to 135-8 in given overs. Purple Force apparently failed to gain momentum during a brief run-chase as star player Jason Roy returned early.

Later, power blasters Iftikhar Ahmed, Nawaz and even Mohammad Hafeez failed to show A-game. Fakhar Zaman got Iftikhar, and Nawaz returned on a mere 2 as he fell to Sikandar Raza. Professor Hafeez scored 25 runs in 22 balls.

Shaheen Afridi remained star player as he dismissed Qais Ahmed early. Martin Guptill too returned without hitting big. Lahore Qaladars captain helped his side getting an early breakthrough as he hit Bangalzai on a golden duck.

Afridi and David Wiese got three wickets each, while Rashid Khan and Raza got one wicket each.

In the first half of the game, the defending champions posted a mammoth 199 runs courtesy of Shai Hope, Tahir Baig, and Sikandar Raza. Openers however departed after stitching 49 runs.

Tahir gained momentum and scored 31 runs off only 15 balls, but was outfoxed by Mohammad Nawaz. Hope and Kamran Ghulam then continued show and made half ton in partnership.
