KARACHI – The eagerly anticipated schedule for the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been officially revealed, featuring a total of 34 matches that promise cricket enthusiasts a thrilling competition.
Karachi has been selected as the primary host city, boasting 11 matches, while Lahore and Rawalpindi will follow closely with nine matches each. Multan will play host to five matches.
In a bid to make the tournament more exciting, renowned teams such as Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, and Multan Sultans will actively participate in five home-ground matches each.
Peshawar Zalmi, on the other hand, is slated to play four matches each in Lahore and Rawalpindi. Quetta Gladiators will feature in three matches across Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.
A strategically planned schedule allows for a comprehensive break of 15 rest days, ensuring that the participating teams are at their competitive best. Karachi Kings will shine under the evening lights, being prominently featured in nine evening matches.
In a parallel fashion, Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, Lahore Qalandars, and Multan Sultans are gearing up for eight evening matches each.
Peshawar Zalmi, a prominent contender, is set to engage in seven evening matches, creating an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation among fans. Teams are expected to commence practice sessions and matches from February 12, with activities continuing until the 16th of the month.
It is important to note that the schedule is provisional, and adjustments may be made in consultation with PSL franchises to ensure a seamless and thrilling cricketing experience for fans and players alike.
