Four prisoners of District Jail fainted while several others fell unconscious when the electric transformer supplying power to jail premises developed some technical fault. It was learnt that the jail has capacity of containing one hundred prisoners where more than 300 prisoners are lodged at present.
District Jail Superintendent Syed Ali Akbar Shah said that he has written a letter to IG Jails for installation of new transformer. He said that a 50 kv transformer was working for supply of electricity to jail but it failed to survive due to excess load and was repaired but again developed fault.
