President Dera Ghazi Khan Chamber of Commerce & Industry Kh. Jalaluddin Roomi called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office and discussed the promotion of the industrial sector in DG Khan and other parts of south Punjab.
He also briefed the CM about the establishment of almonries in Koh-e-Suleman areas adjoining the province of Baluchistan.
Talking on the occasion, the CM disclosed to introduce the cottage business housing concept to provide the facility of work and lodge in the province.
This will accord self-employment, as well as the living facility, to the working women, he added.
Meanwhile, Quaid-e-Azam Business Park was being developed as a model special economic zone.
The provision of necessary facilities, including electricity and water, will be completed soon as MoU has also been signed for the construction of interchange to approach the motorway, he added.
The CM affirmed that an underground power supply and combine treatment plant will be installed in Quaid-e-Azam Business Park along with the establishment of the industrial zone in Muzaffargarh through a public-private partnership mode.
He accentuated to fully utilize the industrial potential of south Punjab and assured to build industrial zones in Muzaffargarh and Bahawalpur on a fast-track basis.
Jalaluddin Roomi iterated that the business community sides with the government in its efforts for public welfare and assured to extend full cooperation to run almonries.
Meanwhile, health and educational projects were being completed in Balochistan, Sindh, North Waziristan, south Punjab and free medicines were also provided in various Multan hospitals.
The 81st Pakistan Day was celebrated here at the University of Health Sciences (UHS), on Tuesday, with national spirit and enthusiasm.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Javed Akram hoisted the country’s flag at a ceremony held at the university’s lawns.
On this occasion, special prayers were also offered for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan, liberation of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) and eradication of Covid-19.
The event was attended by UHS faculty, staff, Chinese experts working on coronavirus vaccine and office bearers of the Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine (PSIM).
Due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus, a limited number of guests were invited to the event. Special attention was given on adherence to Covid-19 SOPs during the ceremony.
In his address on the occasion, Prof. Javed Akram said that today is the day of renewal of the resolve.
Today, the idea of a new country came in the form of the Pakistan Resolution.
“The nation renews its pledge to work with dedication and professional commitment besides paying rich tributes to national heroes of Pakistan Movement for their sacrifices”, he said.
He said that because of coronavirus, the ceremony was celebrated in a simple manner. He prayed that may this event be celebrated in a ‘Corona-Free’ Pakistan next year.
