The Premier League title race continued on matchday 35 with Manchester City returning to the top of the table hours after Liverpool’s win.

City started their game two points behind the Merseyside club and their 4-0 margin of win does not reflect the difficulty they faced at Ellen Road.

Refreshed under their new coach, Leeds made City work for all three points.

In the end goals from Rodri, Nathan Ake, Gabriel Jesus, and Fernadinho saw Man City home.

The first chance of the game went to the hosts when Cancelo slipped on the halfway line to give Rodrigo a free run at the goal but City managed to get back in numbers to snuff out any danger.

City then went ahead in the 13th minute when Rodri headed in Foden’s cross for the game’s first goal.

Leeds started to find their footing at home and responded with a fusillade of crosses with one eventually falling to Junior Firpo who blasted his shot over the bar.

Jesus and Sterling saw their efforts saved as the contest remained close at the end of the first half.

City found their second in the 54th minute when Ake disturbed the back of the net from a Ruben Dias setup header following a corner.

The next great chance went to Raphina whose effort was blocked over the bar by Laporte when he managed to get onto his favored left foot from a threatening angle.

Jesus, in rampant form, finished off a pass from Foden in the 78th minute to finish off the resistance.

Cancelo and Ederson had to make saves on the goal-line to keep their clean sheet intact before Fernadinho powered a long-distance shot past Meslier for City’s 4th.

With three games left the Premier League title race is going down the wire once again.

Jurgen Klopp is staying at Liverpool and City have a deal in principle with Guardiola which means the world may see such great heights for many more years.
