ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) reached an understanding regarding budget for FY 2024-25 being presented in Parliament, the sources familiar with the development said on Wednesday.
The sources said that the PPP would vote in favour of it despite having reservations about the budget.
The party had earlier stated that they had not yet decided whether to support or oppose the federal budget announced by the government.
The sources said that the issues between the two allied parties were resolved at the top leadership level.
“The PPP will fully support the PML-N for budget’s approval,” said the sources, adding that the PPP will back the passage of the budget.
They said that the government assured the PPP that some of its proposals would be included in the budget. In return, the PPP leadership has promised to vote for the PML-N budget.
The PML-N had requested the PPP’s cooperation in passing the budget.
