The City Police appeared to have been failed to determine motive behind murder of PTI MPA Asad khokhar’s brother despite the lapse of three days.
According to sources in the police department, conflicting statements of the accused have made it difficult for the investigators to draw a conclusion as the suspect has changed his statement thrice in the past few days.
In his initial confessional statement, the accused claimed that he shot dead Malik Mubashar alias Malik Goga to avenge the murder of his uncle. He claimed that his uncle was killed Malik Mubashar that’s why he murdered him to settle the score.
According to the sources, later the accused retracted his earlier statement and said that he shot Mubashir dead over personal enmity.
Mubashir was shot dead on Friday night during the walima reception of MPA Asad Khokar’s son durng presence of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and other senior leaders of the PTI.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Prisons Department has cancelled leaves of all employees of prisons across the province. The department has taken the step due to Ashura and Independence Day.
The Punjab Prisons Department directed all staff of provincial jails to be on duty on August 1, for flag hoisting ceremony and ensure attendance to guard Muharram processions inside jails.
The jail authorities in have been directed to ensure arrangements for Muharram processions inside the jail and for this, a reserve force of 20 personnel should be formed for security measures.
The IG Prisons said that Muharram processions and gatherings should be held under the supervision of superintendents and deputy superintendents inside jails.
The jail authorities have also asked the jail staff to request philanthropists for sweets distribution to the inmates on August 14, due to a lack of funds.
